Have you ever said any of the following things?
“I’m bad at meditating.”
“Meditating is hard.”
“I don’t know how to meditate.”
“I’m afraid to meditate.”
“Meditating makes me uncomfortable.”
“I can’t sit still.”
“I cant quiet my thoughts.”
I was doing my daily mindset work today and I had a bit of an ah-ha moment. I was breaking down my underlying commitment to always work hard and stay busy.
If you don’t understand underlying commitments I suggest you purchase my Manifesting Money Webinar from earlier this week.
They are also called ‘unconcious commitments’ or ‘hidden commitments.’
So I realized I had this underlying commitment to staying busy.
Because it kept me safe in the past. It served me. To me, busy meant important or successful, which equaled valued, loved, appreciated, and worthy of love.
So I was fully committed to staying occupied. Going going going.
And through that commitment I was also comitted to being in control.
You know when I experience the worse anxiety?
Lines and restaurants… Anyone else?
You know why… Because I have ZERO control and I can’t stay busy. It’s a forced stillness or waiting. I can’t be productive. I CAN’T be working hard…
Holy shit right…
Thats not a way to live.
So I worked all the way through this underlying commitment, peeling back the layers until I was able to change my commitment to:
I AM COMMITED TO SLOWING DOWN AND WELCOMING STILLNESS INTO MY LIFE!
Amen. And so it is. Bring on the stillness.
So here’s my question for all of you….
Is there an underlying commitment that keeps you from your meditation practice?
