Welcome to this tribe of amazing women. You arrived here, in this unique community, with a story and I’m eager to learn more about it. As one of my favorite sayings goes… “your story has the power to heal others.” Please email me to share yours!
Today, I want to open up to you and share some of my autoimmune journey, including my absolute FAVORITE resources I’ve discovered in navigating autoimmune disease. I recently moved from my long time home in the midwest to the front range of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. I quit my job as Chief of Staff and now I’m fully committed to running my life with the freedom and abundance I know I’m worthy of creating. However, knowing my worth and value was something I struggled with for a long time before arriving at this moment in my life. Ultimately, I dug really (REALLY) deep into my limiting beliefs and I realized not only were they not true, they were also holding me back.
I’m not lovable. I’m not good enough. I’m not worthy of abundance. I am responsible for everyone else. I have to stay in survival mode. The world is not a safe place… These all USED to be part of my daily thought process. You might be wondering what this all has to do with autoimmune disease…
Well, through many experimental diets, nutritional changes, medications, therapies, pain clinics, different types of specialists, and thousands of dollars spent I still felt STUCK in my diagnosis of autoimmune disease (sound familiar to you!?). Ultimately, combined with some of the aforementioned treatments like removing gluten, dairy, soy, corn, and other inflammatory foods from my diet, along with major lifestyle shifts, addressing the mental-emotional aspect of my healing process was what made me feel full of life again. I could eat the cleanest frickin’ diet on the planet, but ultimately what I needed was to forgive myself.
I see each woman in this community as a beautifully unique and perfectly imperfect human being. Each of our journeys and healing processes will vary. What worked for me, might not work for you. But, I hope to be a platform for support, for encouragement, for advice, for comfort, and like a best friend, the sometimes brutal truth (no… you can’t eat Papa John’s pizza at 3am).
After hundreds, if not thousands, of hours on the internet searching for autoimmune answers, here are some of the best resources I’ve discovered over the last six years!
This list is by no means all inclusive, so please DO share your favorites that I may have missed!
